Team Sage Nigeria
Team Sage evolved from Cohort 2 of the AGRA-led Center for Africa Leaders in Agriculture (CALA), an international program designed to develop the next generation of African Leaders in Agriculture and Food Systems.
The team undertook an intensive 16-month training on leadership development and expertise in Food Systems transformation, all members of Team Sage graduated and were celebrated in Addis Ababa in December 2023. These highly diverse and purpose-driven individuals led a project on unlocking Nigeria’s huge export potential in sesame and its value chain. Upon graduation, the team felt compelled to continue this project as a way to contribute to food systems transformation, sustainable economic development and empowerment of smallholder farmers
